Bonnie Burton grew up as a creative. Her father taught chorus and drama at a local high school and brought Bonnie along to rehearsals where she learned to act, build sets, and do theater makeup from a young age. Her mother was a reading teacher, and taught Bonnie to read before she even went to kindergarten. Having had a successful singing career together before starting a family, they brought the elements of performing into Bonnie’s daily life from the beginning.
As she got older, Bonnie incorporated her puzzle solving technical side with her joy of engaging learners when she earned an undergraduate degree in computer science, a master’s in elementary education, and a Ed.D. in instructional leadership. After working successfully in both the corporate and public education worlds, she melds her professional and educational experience with her artistic roots in the world of voiceover.
Cheerful, calm, and confident, Bonnie’s voice evokes a feeling of home, like your favorite broken-in leather boots. She can tackle any genre, from medical narration, to children’s books, to documentary, and everything in between. In all her projects, Bonnie has a collaborative approach and works hard to provide an excellent read—all with a smile.
Bonnie sees great value in expanding her worldview. She goes out of her way to travel, explore museums, and get involved in numerous organizations. Learning more and more beyond her own experience has shown her that in reality, she still has so much to learn. It’s this passion for exploration that gives Bonnie the clear understanding she so effortlessly demonstrates in her voiceover work.
A Long Island, NY, resident, Bonnie works from her broadcast-quality home studio and is a short commute to NYC studios.
